(HFS) “family” or Companies. Established in 2009 as the residential construction division of HFS… HFS Homes has already grown into one of Idaho’s most productive builders!

The principals of HFS Homes, Randy Hopkins, Aaron Van Der Aa and Brian Murphy, bring over 60 years of combined experience in nearly every area of the real estate and lending industry. And by surrounding their experience with dedicated and knowledgeable construction management and real estate professionals, it is no wonder HFS Homes has quickly become an area leader in new home construction. HFS Homes is also proud to announce that we are an Energy Star® Homebuilder.
Mike Smith, Construction Manager, has been involved in building since 1995 when he started framing homes while attending college at the University of Idaho; where he graduated with a degree in computer engineering in 1998. After college Mike began working in the electronics industry; and also began building homes with a partner.
Eventually Mike moved into home building full time and founded Agile Construction. At Agile Mike took a hands-on role and was personally involved in nearly all areas of the construction process. But due to lack of property available to small volume builders, after 3 years of running Agile, Mike went to work for a large volume building company as an estimator. Mike worked for this large company for 3 years before leaving to pursue becoming a small business owner again. Mike’s hands-on experience, combined with years of intensive cost control experience, gives Mike a skill-set that allows him to design homes that are affordable, yet retain the aesthetics and quality that all homeowners desire.
